Edmundas  Kulikauskas

 

In 1979, the cellist Edmundas Kulikauskas graduated from the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, where he studied cello under the guidance of Romanas Armonas.

1979-1984, he studied cello in the class of the renowned professor N. Shachovskaya  at the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire.

In 1989, Edmundas Kulikauskas became principal cello of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra.

In 1990, he was invited to join the Lithuanian String Quartet.

Since 1996 he has been the principal cello of the National Symphony Orchestra.

He is very much interested in contemporary Lithuanian music, and has therefore collaborated in recording music by different Lithuanian composers with the record companies ASV, UK and BIS, Sweden.

Apart his work at the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra., Edmundas Kulikauskas is the lead cellist in the Gaida chamber music ensemble and the piano trio Kaskados. In August 2002,  the Kaskados won the First Prize at the 9th International Johannes Brahms Chamber Music Competition.

He has taken part in numerous concerts in Europe, Israel, Japan and other countries.

Since 2004 he has been teaching at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.

 

 

Raimundas Jasiukaitis

 

Studied cello at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and, as a post-graduate student, at the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Professor M. V. Milman.

 

In 1987, he started playing cello in the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, now he is a deputy concertmaster. Since 1989 he has been playing cello in the ensemble Musica Humana of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society.

 

Jasiukaitis has played in Vilnius University ensembles Bancheto musicale and Verkių rūmai (Verkiai Palace). He taught cello over ten years at B. Dvarionas School of Music for Children. Together with ensemble Baltic trio, he gave concerts in Lithuania and abroad.

 

Jasiukaitis has played in the composition of the Vilnius Opera and Ballet Theatre Symphony Orchestra, Vilnius Festival Orchestra, and Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, both in Lithuania and abroad. Together with the ensemble Musica Humana, participated at international music festivals.

 

The solo repertoire of this cello player lists compositions by famous Baroque and contemporary Lithuanian composers.

 

Gives concerts together with the strings quintet Intermezzo and cello quintet QuinCelli.

 

Takes part in performances of various ensembles in different countries of the world.

 

 

Lionius Treikauskas

 

In 1981, Lionius Treikauskas graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.

In 1979, he started playing in the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre until 1988, when he joined the cellists in the National Symphony Orchestra. He has been giving concerts throughout Europe in different ensembles (trios, quartets, quintets and sextets).

In 1993, he formed Vilnius String Quintet which has by now had over 700 performances. Lionius Treikauskas has been making programmes and arrangements for the ensemble.

He has also been playing with the cello quintet QuinCelli.

Lionius Treikauskas is Artistic Director of the chamber ensemble INTERMEZZO.

 

 

Dainius Palšauskas

 

Born in 1964, he studied music at the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts and graduated from it in 1982. He continued his studies in the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre until 1987.

Dainius Palšauskas is a laureate of the Young Performers and International Riga Competitions.

Playing in different ensembles, he has made a number of radio and TV recordings.

Since 1986, he has been concertmaster of the cellist group in the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra.

 

 

 

Dainius Misiūnas

 

Born in 1971, studied music in A. Palšauskas’ cello class at the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts.

In 1989, he won the second place in the Young Performers Competition.

He graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, having studied in professor Sondeckienė’s cello class.

As a student, he was already a member of different ensembles. Dainius Misiūnas took part in London competition with a string quartet; he had concerts both in Lithuania as well as abroad.

After his studies, Dainius played for a few years in the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra.

Lately, he has been working for the Lithuanian National Orchestra.

He performs with ensembles of different composition.
